You are invited to join us for guided conversation and discussion of the Girl Child Long Walk reading journey
At the heart of the Girl Child Long Walk project is a “reading journey,” accessible on the Girl Child Long Walk Hub. The reading journey is a self-paced exploration of our e-book, The Girl Child & Her Long Walk to Freedom: Putting Faith to Work through Love to Break Ancient Chains.
Over the course of the journey, participants will uncover the historical roots of patriarchy, become acquainted with real-life faith-inspired change agents who challenge unfair gender norms, and learn about the deeper, emancipatory current that lies at the heart of our faith traditions. The Girl Child Long Walk team offers monthly guided discussion of the reading journey so you may share reflections, ask questions, and build connections with others seeking to explore the intersections of faith and gender equality.
And it’s kicking off now! We hope you will join us.
Dive into the reading today by joining the Girl Child Long Walk Hub — our online community for exploring the intersection of faith and gender equality.
Ready to get started?
Register here and follow the easy steps for downloading the app or using the desktop version. Once you’re logged into the Hub you can access the reading materials and join the online discussion.
Our monthly drop-in conversations will help us get to know one another and discuss the reading, and meet some of the faith-inspired change agents featured in the chapters. Our first guided discussion on January 11 will focus on the Preface and Introduction.
As you ponder your plans for the new year, we hope you will consider walking this exodus path with us and the world’s girls through the reading journey. The Girl Child is our guide, the protagonist on our journey, but we are walking a timeless and shared human path—the long walk of liberation from all forms of enslavement and oppression to live into our true nature as a free people. This is both a collective and a deeply personal journey. We hope you will join us and a group of fellow travelers as we set off together!
