Welcome, to our new Girl Child Long Walk Fellows!

Posted by on Jul 31, 2025

The Girl Child Long Walk team is thrilled to announce our third cohort of fellows. This group of 15 passionate, brilliant, faith-inspired change agents from Africa, Europe, and the United States will collectively explore global perspectives and experiences at the intersection of faith, gender and religious patriarchy.

Beginning on August 7th, these fellows will journey together to explore how patriarchy and faith intersect in their own communities and around the world. Through deep reflection, connection, and collaboration, each fellow will develop an idea for a reflective project rooted in the idea of the “Garden of Eden” and their role as co-creators in the ecosystem.

The fellowship curriculum is grounded in our eBook, The Girl Child & Her Long Walk to Freedom: Putting Faith to Work Through Love to Break Ancient Chains. Through sessions facilitated by through the Be Present Empowerment Model, this foundational text is enriched by insights from global experts and partners, peer exchange, and one-on-one coaching and mentorship.

This cohort brings together women and men working to uplift girls and women across diverse contexts, serving in roles ranging from leadership educator to neuropediatric therapist. Fellows come from diverse faith and spirituality backgrounds, and each one brings a unique perspective and personal commitment to this shared journey.

The selection process was rigorous. We received dozens of nominations from our global partners and advisors, and former fellows helped review and interview a competitive pool of 36 applicants. From this, 15 fellows were selected to join the third cohort.

It is deeply encouraging to witness such bold, compassionate leadership rising up to dismantle patriarchal systems and reimagine more just futures.

We can’t wait to introduce you to these remarkable individuals in the months ahead. To learn more about each of our fellows, you can read their bios here.
